   NEW YEARS AT KHYNDAILAD - AN MTDF PRESENTATION AND CELEBRATION IN THE MIDDLE OF SHILLONG

February: 2008

• FEBRUARY  2007: Annual Pilgrimage Lumsohpetbneng:   - Umiam Khwan, 17 Kms from Shillong, East Khasi Hills.

• Cave Exploration/ Expedition by the cavers from UK & Germany - In the whole State.

• Annual boating competition - Dawki, 95 Kms south of Shillong, Jaintia Hills.

• Indigenous community fishing - Siju, 135 Kms from Tura, South Garo Hills.

April: 2007

• APRIL 2008:  SHAD SUKMYNSIEM - Annual Thanksgiving dance of the Khasi People, main dance is held in Shillong on the dates mentioned - villages in outskirts have their own dates.

• Archery competition - Polo ground, Shillong, East Khasi Hills.

• Spring flower show (Agriculture & Horticulture) - All Saints Hall, Shillong, East Khasi Hills.

• Annual Village Fishing Festival - Marngar - Ri Bhoi.

June - July: 2007

• Flower festival - Mawphlang, 23 Kms from Shillong, East Khasi Hills.

• Behdienkhlam festival - Jowai, 65 Kms from Shillong, Jaintia Hills.

• NOVEMBER  - 2007:  Meghalaya Tourism Development Forum Autumn Festival -  2 days of Packed events - Archery, Local Boat Races, Kite Flying -Dances and Music from all over North East India.  A not to be missed Event

• NOVEMBER  - 2007: Nongkrem (Pomblang) Festival & Dance; Annual religious festival of Hima Khyriem.
